Colonialism And Democracy…

There are many questions that are in the air about the kind of suppression that comes in with colonialism in a post-modern world.. What the facts are and what political consequences come forth are all part of the big picture. Ashfaq Saleem Mirza has talked and analysed one of these influential questions and have presented a wide image over the matter in his book Falsafa-e-Nauabadiat Aur Jamhooriat (Colonialism And Democracy). A book review is in the daily Pakistan Today by Aamir Riaz, which is worth sharing…

Mughaltay Mubalghay…

Prof. Mubarak Haider’s new book ‘Mughaltay Mubalghay’ is now out and a current best-seller.. The book questions and put forward the need for revisiting the historical question of Muslim ideological misconceptions and is an addition to the on-going debate to resolve the most over-rated fact of Muslim societies, globally. Here is a book review (Urdu Version) of the book by Hamid Akhtar… You can place an order of the book, here.

Tehzeebi Nargasiat (Civilisational Narcissism)…

There are times when you see people going around in a routine and notice a strange feeling of not being welcomed and appreciated if you disagree with the philosophy of the ‘masses’, and you feel alienated in your land and among your own friends for what you are… At times, there are situations when you see that behaviours that sprout out of such societies are self-centered, focusing on keeping the social function of a particular mind-set as the ‘default’ mode. That is the time when you best refer to the term ‘Civilisational Narcissism’ for the society deeply drowned in self-appraisal and ‘piety’ as an overrated-must-have. Prof. Mubarak Haider, a renowned scholar and critic, has rightly discussed the current situation of Muslim downfall and has held the narcissistic behaviour hidden in the mind-set and norms to be responsible for a stagnant state of society. And a consistent argument has been provided in the book. The book can rightly be called a best-seller, both nationally and internationally. Sakeena…

Fauzia Rafiq has managed to pull out a great fiction novel that has crossed through hearts of enthusiasts of feminist genre. We received an immensely incredible response at the launch of this book in Islamabad in June, 2007. Also, this book is one of the most luckiest to have the chance of getting officially launched in six of other major cities across Pakistan and received an equally great response including Lahore, Karachi, Hyderabad, Multan, Kot Adu, and Jhang. Mansha Yad, a renowned fiction writer and critic of Pakistani literature presented a review in Punjabi at the ceremony in Islamabad. The text of the Punjabi version is available here

Ashfaq Salim Mirza, another renowned writer and critic of Pakistani literature wrote this about the book (Punjabi version)…

Memoirs Of A Cyberspace Clerk…

Very few of the writers are capable of producing a work dynamic enough to give the feeling to their readers that they manage to captivate, and thus meaningfully change the way they look at the world… Prof. Mirza Ather Baig has successfully acquired the status of being one of these ‘visionary’ writers. Here is a review by Arif Waqar on his second and latest novel ‘Sifr Se Aik Tak: Cyberspace ke munshi ki Sarguzasht’ (Memoirs Of A Cyberspace Clerk) (as published in Daily The News; September 12, 2010)…

Ghulam Bagh…

Ghulam Bagh, one of the best sellers at Sanjh and most admired work from Prof. Mirza Ather Baig, is a must read for all those who are interested in the philosophy of the human heart in conflict with itself and to find the most bizarre of  events folded inside the most unpredictable situations… You may place an order by e-mailing us, or making a call. Scientists Are Human…

Scientists Are Human: The Humurous Side Of Science by Shuja Alhaq is a well thought and an incredible book of its kind that talks of the life of our most admired and favourite scientists, except that it’s not a conventional biography, but a very humurous one that explicates the fascinating side of scientists, who are just as ‘human’ as we are and make errors so silly that you are inclined to say “wtf?”. Here’s a book review by Basharat Hussain Qizilbash.
